Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the economy of Indonesia and South Kalimantan, and Balangan Regency is no exception. One of the efforts made by the government to improve the economy in the Balangan Regency is through the MSME development program, through the empowerment of sasirangan artisans. This study aims to analyze the appropriate pattern of assistance for sasirangan artisans so that the empowerment program is effective in improving their economy and can be sustainable. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with Reflective, Recursive Design and Development Model (R2D2) analysis tools. This R2D2 model uses four components, namely: definition, design, development, and dissemination. The criteria for mentoring patterns are grouped into three: the provision of training programs, business facilitation, and financial assistance. The design of the mentoring pattern is done by dividing the target of mentoring into two groups, namely new entrepreneurs Sasirangan and existing entrepreneurs, with a focus on MSMEs advancing to class. The results of this study indicate that the existing mentoring pattern is still ineffective in improving the sasirangan artisans' skills in marketing and product development, so it has not had a direct impact on the economy of the sasirangan artisans. In addition, the training and business facilitation pattern has not yet targeted a wider group and is only focused on the artisans overseen by the relevant government agencies.
