Abstract

Residency of Surakarta is located in the southern of Central Java with a moderate economic growth rate consisting of 6 districts and 1 city (Boyolali Regency, Klaten Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Wonogiri Regency, Karanganyar Regency, Sragen Regency, and Surakarta City). The percentage of the poverty rate in the Kartasura residency area has a fluctuating value with a highest level compared to the district/city area in Central Java Province. The analysis uses time series data from 2017-2021. The researcher used a randomeffect analysis model with a panel regression model. Result of the study show that the contribution of women's income has a negative effect on poverty, while the variable rate of economic growth has no effect on poverty. It’s means that the greater the income of women will reduce poverty. In other analyses the variable of women's contribution and the rate of population growth have an influence on the variable of poverty. So that stakeholders who make policy to reduce poverty need to be considered to formulate of equality through increasing women's income.
