Abstract

The metal ore industry in Indonesia has significant potential and contributes significantly to the national economy. Klaten is an area that has developed in the metal industry sector. Casting is a manufacturing process that uses molten metal and molds to produce finished goods with shapes that closely resemble the final geometry of the end product. Casting defects are influenced by several factors such as casting design, patterns, molding sand, mold and core design, metal charge composition, melting and pouring processes, and gating systems. Various types of defects that occur in castings include voids, insufficient fill, and rough surface defects. This article discusses the production process of metal casting and analyzes casting defects at CV Bintang Jaya Utama
